K-State’s Hardy Earns Second Team All-American Honors

This was her second appearance at the Indoor Championship

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Monique Hardy kicked off day one of the NCAA Indoor Championship on Thursday (March 7) earning second team All-American honors in the women's weight throw at the TRACK at new balance.
 
Hardy finished 11th in the event, against 15 competitors, with her third throw of 21.19m/69-6.25.
 
Jalani Davis of Ole Miss won the weight throw with a new facility record of 24.80m/81-4.50.
 
Hardy won all seven weight throw events this season, including her first Big 12 Championship at 21.11m/69-3.25 on Feb. 23. In the second meet of the year at the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular on Jan. 12 she set her personal best and K-State school record with a throw of 22.13m/72-7.25.
 
During day two of competition on Friday (March 8) senior Eugene Omalla will compete in the 400 meter dash semifinals at 3:30 p.m. CT.
