Bacianskaite Starts Heptathlon on NCAA Championship Day Three

The senior ends the day with 3,353 points in 19th place
EUGENE, Ore. – K-State track and field saw competition from three more Wildcats during the second and third days of the NCAA Championship at Hayward Field.
On Friday (June 7), senior Urte Bacianskaite competed in the first four events of the women's heptathlon, ending the day with 3,353 points in 19th place. In a field of 24 athletes, Texas A&M's Timara Chapman takes the lead with 3,794 points.
Bacianskaite recorded a top-five finish in the shot put, finishing 4th with a throw of 14.42m/47-3.75. In the high jump she cleared a height of 1.66m/5-5.25, placing 19th.
During the men's second day of competition, senior Andrew White took the field in the men's discus where he recorded a throw of 56.41m/185-1 for 17th place and All-American honorable mention.
On Thursday (June 6), senior Hannah Stewart ran in the 3,000 meter steeplechase semifinals where she finished 17th with a time of 10:06.01, a new personal best by three seconds, also earning All-American honorable mention.
Bacianskaite will wrap up the last three heptathlon events on Saturday (June 8), during the last day of the season, beginning at 12:30 p.m. CT with the long jump.
Saturday's events will be broadcast on ESPN, with field events being streamed individually on ESPN+.
