K-State Baseball Lands Nine on Academic All-Big 12 Teams

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State sent nine student-athletes, including seven first-team selections, onto the 2024 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball Teams, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Tyson Neighbors, Mason Buss, Andrew Evans, Brendan Jones, Kyan Lodice, Jayden Lobliner, and Cadyn Karl each received First Team recognition, while Jackson Wentworth and Cole Wisenbaker earned second-team honors.
K-State has totaled 56 academic all-conference selections in six seasons under head coach Pete Hughes.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. In total, 162 student-athletes across the Big 12 were recognized on this year's Academic All-Big 12 Baseball Teams.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
K-State capped a historic 2024 season with the program's second appearance in the NCAA Super Regional, after going 3-0 to secure the Fayetteville Regional title. The Wildcats finished the year 35-26, marking the seventh 35-plus win season in school history and second under head coach Pete Hughes.
