K-State Meets UCF, No. 21 Iowa State to Close Big 12 Slate

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State hosts UCF Wednesday night in its final regular-season home match at Morgan Family Arena before closing out the regular season Saturday at No. 21 Iowa State.
A post-match ceremony honoring the Wildcats' (16-8, 9-7 Big 12) five-member senior class will immediately follow the match with the Knights (16-11, 7-9 Big 12), which is slated for a 6:30 p.m. CT first serve. Saturday's match is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum.
K-State will honor four graduating seniors in Ava LeGrand, Shaylee Myers, Brenna Schmidt and Jordyn Williams, along with redshirt-junior Aniya Clinton.
The Wildcats are seeking an at-large bid to the 2025 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship, as they enter the final week with an RPI of 32 and tied sixth in the conference standings. The Big 12 – the nation's top conference in RPI – has 11 teams inside the top 50 in RPI, including Iowa State (22-5, 11-5 Big 12) at No. 20.

WHAT's ON THE LINE…
- A win Wednesday would hand the Cats' their 17th win of the season, marking the most wins in a single-season under Mansfield.
- A win on Saturday would tie the program record for Top 25 wins in a single-season, tying the 2023 squad.
- It would also mark the seventh consecutive victory over Iowa State – the team's second longest winning streak in the series history.
- If the Cats defeat UCF, it would tie the most conference wins under Mansfield.

SCOUTING UCF
- UCF (16-11, 7-9 Big 12) is coming off a three-set loss to No. 9 Arizona State, the Big 12 regular-season champion, at home last week.
- The Knights, who are in their first season under head coach Matt Botsford, enter the week with an RPI of 62 and look to stay within the league's top-10 of the conference standings.
- UCF has gone 3-2 over its last five matches.
- The Knights offense is led by Avah Armour with her 4.38 kills per set.
- Skylar English (2.58 kills/set) and Sasha Cohen (1.92 kills/set) rank second and third on the team, respectively. English leads the conference with 63 service aces.
- Amour was tabbed Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 28) while teammates Reaghan Thomas (Sept. 23) and Alexa Haley (Nov. 11) have each earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
- Thompson averages one block per set, which ranks 16th in the conference.
- The Knights are third in the league in opponent hitting percentage, limiting team's to a .180 efficiency.

- A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, Myers was the eighth pick of the second round and was one of only three players from the Big 12 Conference to be drafted, alongside Arizona State's Colby Neal (Round 2, No. 13) and Arizona's Jordan Wilson (Round 3, No. 18).
- Myers becomes the second player in school history to be selected in the MLV, formally known as the Pro Volleyball Federation, joining former teammate Sydney Bolding, who was taken 11th overall by Grand Rapids in 2023.
HOME SWEET HOME
- K-State is 8-4 at home in this season, that started with a perfect 4-0 after their home-opening tournaments against UMBC, Delaware, NC State and Nevada.
- Head coach Jason Mansfield is 22-16 (.579) overall at home in his three-year K-State career, that includes 15-11 (.577) mark in Big 12 play.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
- For the first time since 2021, K-State has six wins in true road matches in a season as it holds a 6-4 road record entering Saturday's contest with Iowa State.

DOUBLE DOWN
