MANHATTAN, Kan. – For the second time after the conclusion of his senior season, Kansas State's Kobe Valociek earned an honor for his work in the classroom by being named to the 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar team, the Golf Coaches Association of American announced Tuesday.
To be eligible for the Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar team, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically, participate in at least 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.00 and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
On the course, Valociek ranked second on the squad with a 72.32 scoring average during his lone season in Manhattan. The Peoria, Arizona, product, who transferred from Virginia Tech prior to the 2024-25 campaign, put together six top-20 finishes, including four top-10 showings. His best finish of the year was a tie for fourth place at The Prestige with a season-best 54-hole score of 7-under par 206.
Valociek helped the Wildcats advance to the postseason after a year hiatus as K-State placed seventh, finishing only three shots shy of an advancing spot to the NCAA Championship.
