K-State’s Sibbing Named Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Following its pair of wins in the opening weekend of the season, K-State soccer earned a weekly honor from the Big 12 Conference. Sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Sibbing was named Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week for her efforts.
Sibbing is the fourth K-State netminder to earn the Big 12's weekly honor and the first since 2023.
The product of Lee's Summit, Missouri, registered a pair of shutouts to lead the Wildcats to their first 2-0-0 start since the 2018 season. With her two shutout wins last weekend, Sibbing is the first K-State goalkeeper since Emma Malsy in 2018 to collect two shutout wins in their first two matches in frame for K-State.
Against Oral Roberts on Thursday, Sibbing snared two saves in six shots faced to register her second career shutout and first with the Wildcats.
Against Portland State on Sunday, Sibbing needed to make one save for her second shutout of the season and establish a new career season-high for shutouts with two.
For the season, Sibbing is 2-0-0 with three saves for 1.50 per game, a save percentage of 1.000 and a goals against average of 0.00.
K-State will embark on a four-match road trip beginning on Thursday, August 21, as the Wildcats visit South Dakota. Match time is 6 p.m.
