Six Wildcats Named to Academic All-Big 12 Teams

Six women was the most nominated to the Academic team since 2022

MANHATTAN, Kan.- The women's tennis team had six women named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team as announced by the conference on Tuesday (August 5).
 
Maralgoo Chogsomjav, Charlotte Keitel, Veronika Kulhava, Tereza Polakova and Maria Santos were all named to the Spring Team while freshman Zhanel Rustemova was named to the All-Big 12 Rookie Team. Kulhava achieved a perfect 4.00 GPA.
 
Santos, a native of Cortegaca, Porutgal, was named to the Academic Team all three years as a Wildcat.
 
Six Wildcats named is the most since 2022 when six women were also selected. 17 women have earned the honor under the leadership of head coach Jordan Smith since 2017.
 
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.20 GPA either cumulative or over two previous semesters and must have participated in 20% of their team's scheduled events. Seniors who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
