
Wildcats Begin Season at Home with Thane Baker Invitational

Day starts at 1:30 p.m. with six invitational races starting at 6:45 p.m.
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State track and field teams are set for the first home meet of the indoor season on Friday (January 16) with the Thane Baker Invitational at Cliff Rovelto Indoor Track. Admission is free and open to the public.
The day will start at 1:30 p.m. with the men's weight throw while races will start at 2:05 p.m. with the women's 60-meter hurdles prelims. Starting at 6:45 p.m., there will be six invitational races for a fast paced 800 meters, mile and 3,000 meters.
Competing teams include Big 10 Champions Oregon, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Wichita State, Tulsa and Northern Iowa.
This season's roster boasts veteran Wildcats and a variety of transfers and freshmen. Seniors, and school record holders, Gary Moore Jr. and Monique Hardy, are back to perform high marks in the men's and women's weight throw. Iowa junior transfers, Daniela Wamokpego and Maud Zeffou-Poaty, will compete for the first time in a purple uniform in the women's triple and long jump.
K-State will have multiple freshmen compete on the track, Reese Kasper in the women's 400 meters, Desirae Riehle in the women's 600 yards, Jack Guthridge in the men's 200 meters and Heath Grant in the men's 600 yards.
