DALLAS, Texas – The Kansas State women's golf team put together its best round of the 2026 Big 12 Women's Golf Championship presented by Allstate on Saturday by posting a 14-over par 302 final-round total at the par-72, 6,270-yard Dallas Athletic Club.
The Wildcats moved up one spot to finish in 13th place with a 54-hole total of 50-over par 914.
"Today was another battle," head coach Stew Burke said. "The ladies fought hard this week without their best stuff, and that's all I can ask. We have a quick turnaround for the US Open qualifier and then some time at home to prepare for Regionals. As disappointed as we are with this event, we still have golf ahead of us and can reflect properly after the season."
Following a final-round total of 1-over par 73, sophomore Kelsey Chen tied for 19th place – earning her ninth top-20 finish in 11 events this season – with a three-round total of 4-over par 220.
Sophomore Nanami Nakashima and senior Noa van Beek were the other two Wildcats to play in all three rounds. Nakashima tied for 44th place at 11-over par 227 after a final-round tally of 3-over par 75. The Kani, Japan, native had three bogeys and parred the other 15 holes during Saturday's round. van Beek, who recorded a score of 6-over par 78 in the final round, finished in 59th place at 20-over par 236.
A trio of freshmen took their turns serving as the fourth and fifth members of the scoring lineup this week as Keen Visavapattamawan and Casey Kang tied for 67th place, while Stalee Fields tied for 69th place. Visavapattamwan came back into the lineup after sitting out the second round, carding a score of 4-over par 76 on Saturday. Fields played in each of the final two rounds as she posted a score of 7-over par 79 on Saturday.
No. 25 Iowa State came from six shots back to earn its first Big 12 Championship at 5-under par 859, edging the 18- and 36-hole leader, No. 36 Houston, by six shots. Iowa State's Nichakorn Pinprayoon and UCF's Mila Jurine were co-medalists at 7-under par 209.
Kansas State will now turn its attention to the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Selection Show this coming Wednesday, April 24, at 3 p.m. (CT). The field of 72 teams will be announced on GOLF Channel.
