MANHATTAN, Kan. – Dee Kennedy received a pair of All-America honors Wednesday, as the K-State shortstop was named a Second Team All-American by both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Perfect Game.
Kennedy, who ranks No. 55 on the latest Baseball America Top 200 College Draft Prospects list, becomes the 19th player in program history to earn postseason All-America recognition. The honor marks K-State's 40th postseason All-America selection and fourth in the last six seasons. Under eighth-year head coach Pete Hughes, the Wildcats have produced four All-Americans and four Freshman All-Americans.
The NCBWA Co-District 6 Player of the Year continues to add to an impressive 2026 campaign. On Tuesday, Kennedy earned ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-Region honors. He has also been named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, Dick Howser Trophy and Brooks Wallace Award, while garnering First Team All-Big 12 recognition, Midseason First Team All-America honors from D1Baseball and Perfect Game, along with five Player of the Week awards.
In 2026, Kennedy assembled one of the most dominant offensive seasons in K-State history, leading the Wildcats in nearly every major offensive category. He posted a team-best .357 batting average, .461 on-base percentage and .733 slugging percentage while collecting 79 hits, 20 home runs, 69 RBI and 70 runs scored.
His .733 slugging percentage ranks fourth in school history for a single season. In 57 games, Kennedy recorded a team-high 19 multi-RBI games and ranked second on the team with 21 multi-hit performances, including four multi-home run games.
The Fort Worth, Texas, native finished his junior season with 17 doubles, three triples, a school-record 20 home runs and 22 stolen bases, becoming just the fifth player in Big 12 history to record a 20-home run, 20-stolen-base season. He is also one of only four players nationally to accomplish the feat in 2026.
K-State finished with a 30-27 overall record and an 11-19 mark in Big 12 play, securing its fourth consecutive 30-win season. The streak ties the longest run of 30-win seasons in program history and is the Wildcats' first since 1988-91.
