Jul 01, 2026 | Women's Golf
MAYETTA, Kan. – Kansas State rising sophomore Stalee Fields is moving on to one of the most prestigious amateur events by winning a playoff for the second of two spots in the US Amateur Qualifier on Wednesday held at the par-72, 6,315-yard Firekeeper Golf Course.
Fields moves on as one of 156 competitors in the 2026 US Women's Amateur, held August 4-9, at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee.
Needing to finish either first or second in the 33-player field, Fields posted a score of 1-over par 73 thanks to birdies on Nos. 1 and 2 before bogeying Nos. 3, 12 and 13 to tie with Juliana Hong of Norman, Oklahoma, for second place, one shot behind winner Destiny McNeil of Castroville, Texas.
Fields and Hong went to No. 8 to begin their playoff, but it would not go past the par-4 hole as Fields shot par and Hong bogeyed.
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Fields is the second Wildcat in the last three years to compete in the US Women's Amateur as Carla Bernat was part of the field and advanced to match play in 2024.
