Chikomba and Uhlin Named to CSC Academic All-America First Team

They are the first Wildcats to be named to the First Team since 2014
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Junior Tah Chikomba and senior Emil Uhlin were both named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Track and Field Academic All-America First Team on Tuesday (July 14).
Chikomba and Uhlin are the first Wildcats to earn First Team honors since Kyle Wait in 2014, along with Scott Sellers in 2008 and 2009. Uhlin now has the most Academic All-American honors of any K-State men with three after previously being named to the Third Team in 2023 and 2025.
Chikomba, a junior from Zimbabwe, is majoring in kinesiology with a 3.78 GPA. He was named the USTFCCCA National Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year and the Midwest Region Field Athlete of the Year, also included on The Bowerman Semifinalist watchlist on June 25. Academically he was also on the CSC Academic All-District Team and Academic All-Big 12 Team.
He was crowned the NCAA Outdoor Champion in the long jump at 8.37m (27' 5.5"), the new K-State school record. He also won the conference title at the Big 12 Championship at 8.27m (27' 1.75"), the new Big 12 and Drachman Stadium facility records. On May 27 at the NCAA West Preliminary he jumped 8.75m (28' 8.5"), wind aide of 3.2, which is the NCAA #1 all-conditions all-time and #7 all-conditions all-time in world history.
Uhlin graduated in May with a 4.00 GPA in biology. The decathlete from Falun, Sweden, earned multiple academic honors in his career, including the 2025 Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award recipient, was a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete and four years on both the CSC All-District Team, and Academic All-Big 12 Team.
At the NCAA Outdoor Championship, Uhlin finished 5th in the decathlon with 7,976 points for his second First Team All-America honors, finishing his college career with the no. 3 best performance in school records. In 2025 he finished 3rd in the decathlon for First Team honors while his freshman season in 2022 he was named to the Second Team in 12th place.
Other Big 12 athletes named Academic All-Americans include Carter Cutting of BYU to the First Team while three more men from BYU, Colorado and Oklahoma State were named to the Second and Third Teams.
