
Chogsomjav Sisters Set to Compete at ITA All-American Championship

Senior Maralgoo will compete in the tournament for a consecutive year
MANHATTAN, Kan.- The K-State women's tennis team will be represented at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championship by sisters senior Maralgoo Chogsomjav and sophomore Martaa Chogsomjav during the nine-day tournament on September 19-27 in Cary, N.C.

Hosted at Cary Tennis Park, both Chogsomjav women will participate in singles competition, starting with the pre-qualifying draw on Friday and Saturday (September 19-20). Advancement in the bracket includes the qualifying round on September 21-22 ahead of the main draw from September 23-27. The duo is also listed as alternates in the doubles bracket.

Kicking off their fall competition, Martaa will face Ava Krug from Duke at 10 a.m., CT, prior to Maralgoo's match at 1 p.m., CT, against Boise State's Allison Isaacs.

This will be a consecutive season for Maralgoo at the All-American Championship, last year she competed both in singles and doubles action with partner Zhanel Rustemova.

In 2025, entering the qualifying round, and her fourth match, Maralgoo defeated preseason ranked #56 Gianna Oboniye from Mississippi State, 6-4, 6-1. After advancing to the second round she faced another ranked opponent, Stanford's #90 Alyssa Ahn but retired in the second set.

During the first weekend of the 2026 fall season on September11-13, four Wildcats competed in two tournaments, the Milwaukee Tennis Classic in Milwaukee, Wis., and the Kitty Harrison Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Over the weekend the Cats went 6-13 in both singles and doubles competition. Doubles duo, sophomore Diana Smolinska and freshman Sabrina Balderrama, were 2-2 in Milwaukee against opponents, including a 6-1 victory over a team from Wisconsin-Madison.
