• 2022-23 First Team Academic All-Big 12

CAREER: Played in 32 career games as a valuable member of the special teams units in addition to seeing time as a reserve defensive end.

2023: Played in all 13 games, serving on both punt coverage and field goal/extra point protection, while he saw time as a reserve defensive end in five games... Carded tackles against TCU and Houston... Earned First Team Academic All-Big 12 honors.

2022: Played in all 14 games on special teams, which he also earned time as a reserve defensive end against South Dakota and in the Sugar Bowl against Alabama... Carded one tackle against the Coyotes... A First Team Academic All-Big 12 performer.

2021: Played in four games on both special teams and as a reserve defensive end... Carded two tackles on the year – one apiece against Nevada and TCU – while he recorded a half sack against the Wolf Pack... Earned First Team Academic All-Big 12 accolades.

2020: Saw time on field goal protection in K-State’s win at Oklahoma.

2019: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner at Basehor-Linwood under head coach Rod Stallbaumer... Helped the Bobcats earn a combined 30-5 record over his final three seasons, including a pair of league championships... Picked up first team all-state honors as a senior from the Topeka Capital-Journal and Kansas Football Coaches Association, while he was an honorable mention pick by the Wichita Eagle as both a junior and senior... Named the defensive MVP of the United Kansas Conference as a senior... Earned the Dylan Meier Get Busy Livin’ Award in 2018... A finalist for the Bobby Bell Award, which is presented annually to the most outstanding lineman or linebacker in the small class of the Kansas City area... Combined for 150 tackles and 14 sacks over his final two seasons... Selected to play in the Kansas Shrine Bowl... Also competed in basketball and track.
 
PERSONAL: Jace Aaron Friesen was born June 8, 2001, in Manhattan, Kansas... Son of Andrew and Julie Friesen, both of whom attended K-State... Has one sister, Delaney... Mother, Julie, was a four-year letterwinner on the K-State track and field team... Grandfather, Earl Meyer, was a four-year football letterwinner from 1951 to 1954, playing alongside Veryl Switzer... Cousin of Jon McGraw, who lettered at K-State from 1998 to 2001 and played 10 years in the NFL with the New York Jets, Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs... Earned his degree from Kansas State in communication studies in May 2023, while he is currently working on his minor in conflict resolution.
