CAREER: Played in 42 career games with 36 starts over parts of five seasons... Started each of the final 30 games o his career.
 
2024: Started all 13 games, totaling 49 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery as he was named an All-Big 12 First Team performer by the league’s coaches in addition to picking up the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year award... It was K-State’s conference-leading sixth Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year accolade since the award was introduced following the 2006 season, two more than the next closest school (Texas – 4)... Joined former Wildcat winners Meshak Williams (2012), Ryan Mueller (2014), Jordan Willis (2016) and Felix Anudike-Uzomah (2021 and 2022)... Also earned votes from the coaches for the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award... Ranked 26th nationally and was tops in the Big 12 in sacks (0.65 sacks per game), while he tied for fourth in the Big 12 in tackles for loss... Tallied a season-high 2.5 sacks at Colorado, the most in the Big 12 during the 2024 season... His 27 lost yards due to sacks against the Buffaloes were the most by a Wildcat since at least 2009... Recorded his first-career interception against Cincinnati, the first Wildcat defensive lineman with a pick since 2021 (Jaylen Pickle against Southern Illinois) and the first in Big 12 play since 2011 (Raphael Guidry against Iowa State)... Recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter against Kansas, which led to the game-winning field goal... Tallied a season high seven tackles at Houston, while he had six against Oklahoma State and five against Colorado, West Virginia and Arizona State... Voted a team captain for the 2024 season.
 
2023: Started all 13 games, totaling 27 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two pass breakups and two forced fumbles en route to All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades... Tied for fourth in the Big 12 in forced fumbles... Had a season-high five tackles at Kansas, while he had four stops in back-to-back games at Oklahoma State and Texas Tech... Recorded a 10-yard sack against UCF... Forced a fumble at Texas that eventually led to a K-State touchdown as the Wildcats rallied from a 27-7 deficit to tie the game and send it to overtime... Also forced a fumble against Troy and had pass breakups at Missouri and Texas... Tallied full TFLs against SEMO, Oklahoma State and Texas... Picked up Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators in addition to First Team Academic All-Big 12 accolades.

2022: Played in every game with 10 starts, totaling 31 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery... Ranked sixth in the Big 12 in sacks... Set career highs in tackles (8), tackles for loss (3.0) and sacks (3.0) at West Virginia en route to Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors... His 3.0 sacks against the Mountaineers tied for fourth in school history for a single game and tied for the second most by a Big 12 player during the 2022 season... Carded his first-career sack in the season opener against South Dakota, while he also had sacks against Iowa State and Oklahoma State... Registered his first-career pass breakup at Baylor and recovered a fumble against Oklahoma State... Tallied five tackles against Texas and three at TCU... Earned Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators in addition to being a First Team Academic All-Big 12 performer.

2021: Saw action in K-State’s win over LSU in the Texas Bowl as a reserve defensive end.

2020: Played as a reserve defensive end against Kansas, making one tackle.

2019: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: A two-year letterwinner at Iowa City West under head coach Garrett Hartwig... Helped the Trojans earn a 21-3 record over his junior and senior seasons... Totaled 33 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks... Also competed in track and field.

PERSONAL: Brendan Mott was born March 28, 2001, in Kalispell, Montana... Son of Joe and Shelly Mott... Father, Joe, was an All-Big Ten defensive end at Iowa and was selected in the third round of the 1989 NFL Draft by the New York Jets, while he also played for the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers... Has two siblings, Chris and Jenna... Brother-in-law Nick Niemann currently plays for the Los Angeles Chargers... Earned his degree from Kansas State in finance in May 2023, while he is currently working on his MBA and certificate in investment management.
