Dalton Smith

Dalton Smith is in his fourth season on head coach Jeff Mittie’s staff and serves the program as the Director of Video Operations and Analytics.
Smith’s responsibilities with the Wildcats include: film exchange with opponents, editing film clips for the coaching staff and players, assisting the coaching staff in collecting and editing film of recruits, arranging Zoom sessions with recruits, summer camp management and technology liaison.
Prior to joining Mittie’s staff in Manhattan, Smith served as a graduate assistant for two seasons at Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska.
While on Brent Pollari’s staff, Smith worked with two NSIC South Division Players of the Year in Erin Norling and Kylie Hammer. In addition, Norling was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American and three Wildcats tallied all-conference honors. He also assisted with team recruiting, organized offseason workouts, and handled the team’s academic success plan.
Smith opened his career as a student assistant at the University of Nebraska Kearney. UNK registered 62 wins and had 12 all-conference selections in his three seasons on staff. Smith assisted the UNK coaching staff with skill development during practices, reviewed game film to assess opponent’s strengths and weaknesses, and handled team equipment on road games.
Smith earned his bachelors in Health and Physical Education from Nebraska Kearney in 2020 and masters in Organization Management from Wayne State in 2022.
