Micaëlla Riché is in her third season at K-State and her first season as a full time member of head coach Jeff Mittie’s staff. In her first two seasons, Riché served as a graduate assistant for the program. Beginning in the 2016-17 season, Riché will serve as the team’s Coordinator of Recruiting Operations.
In her new role, Riché will be responsible for coordinating all of K-State’s on campus recruiting operations and will serve as the liaison between AAU and high school coaches and young players across the state of Kansas and nationwide. She will also handle the K-State women’s basketball summer camps.
During the summer of 2015, Riché served as an assistant coach with an Athletes in Action team that played three games in Poland. The team Riché coached featured K-State’s Breanna Lewis and Erica Young.
Riché, a product of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, was a four-year letter winner and a two-time team captain for the Golden Gophers. She helped Minnesota to three postseason tournaments - two WNIT appearances and one WBI bid - and was named to the 2013 All-Big Ten honorable mention selection. For her career, Riché registered 867 points (6.9 ppg), 585 rebounds (4.6 rpg) and 45 blocks in 126 career games.
Riché also showed dedication in the classroom as she was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and graduated in May of 2014 with her degree in kinesiology.
Prior to joining the Golden Gophers, Riché built a strong junior resume. Riche played for several Canadian junior national teams including: Canadian Junior National U15, U17 and U18. She helped the U18 squad capture a bronze medal at the 2010 FIBA Americas U18 Tournament in Colorado, Springs, Colorado.
