
K-State’s Heal, Sides Named CSC Academic All-District

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State women's basketball student-athletes Tess Heal and Taryn Sides have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District VII team. This is the second career CSC honor for both.
As a program, K-State women's basketball has earned 33 (formerly CoSIDA) CSC Academic All-District VII citations by 19 student-athletes.
Heal, a strategic management major, led the Wildcats in scoring in Big 12 games as she averaged 15.5 points per game while shooting 53.1 percent from the field, 40.9 percent from beyond the arc and 87.5 percent from the free throw line. In league-only games, Heal ranked 13th in the Big 12 in scoring, fourth in field goal percentage and third in free throw percentage. She reached double figures in 13 of the 15 league games she played in.
Overall, Heal was third on the team in scoring with 10.7 points per game on a 47.6 percent effort from the floor, including 32.4 percent from beyond the arc, and shot a team-high 86.9 percent from the foul line. She ranks second in the Big 12 in free throw percentage and third in program history for a single-season. Her free throw percentage set the school record for a career.
Sides, an integrative human sciences major, paced K-State in scoring during the 2025-26 season at a career-best 12.4 points per game while shooting 42.3 percent from the field, including 38.9 percent from 3-point range, and 84.6 percent from the foul line. She ranked 10th in school history for free throw percentage in a season. She was second on the team and 13th in the Big 12 in assists per game at 3.7. She led the Wildcats and was sixth in the Big 12 for 3-point field goals made per game at 2.22.
She established career season-highs for points (460) and assists (137). Her 137 assists are eighth in program history for a junior season. Sides joined Kindred Wesemann (2015-16) as the only two players in a junior season to register 100 or more assists and 80 or more 3-point field goals made. She was the ninth player in program history to register 400 or more points, 100 or more rebounds and 100 or more assists.
K-State ended its 58th season with a 19-18 overall record and the fifth straight postseason appearance and the 10th in the last 12 seasons.
