
K-State WBB Announces 2026-27 Non-Con Schedule

MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State women's basketball head coach Jeff Mittie announced the complete non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 season on Monday.
The Wildcats' non-conference slate features nine home games, participation in the 2026 edition of The Invitational in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a neutral site matchup with SEC foe Missouri at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, a trip to Fort Myers, Florida, for the Elevance Health Women's Fort Myers Tip-Off and the fourth annual Bill Snyder Basketball Classic presented by Southern Bank in St. Joseph, Missouri.
"Overall, this schedule is incredibly challenging across the board with NCAA Tournament team from last season, quality mid-major programs and highly successful Power 4 teams," stated Mittie about the schedule. "I expect this schedule will once again be a top-25 NET schedule and provide us with great opportunities."
K-State's 2026-27 non-conference schedule includes eight games against teams that reached the postseason in 2025-26, including five teams that played in the NCAA Tournament (Minnesota, NC State, Stephen F. Austin, Villanova, Western Illinois), one which played in the WBIT (Missouri) and two teams that played in the WNIT (Southern Indiana and UTRGV).
K-State officially begins its 59th season of action with a four-game home stand beginning on Monday, November 2, as the Wildcats host Sunflower State rival, Wichita State. This will be the first time the Wildcats and Shockers will open a season against one another. K-State leads the series between the schools, 42-8 and won the last meeting on March 16, 2023, in Manhattan, 90-56, in the first round of the 2023 Postseason WNIT.
Wichita State registered an overall record of 8-23 including a 5-13 mark in the American Conference in 2025-26.
The Wildcats return to the floor on Thursday, November 5, as the Wildcats face Southern Indiana for the first time. The Screaming Eagles reached the second round of the 2026 Postseason WNIT, carding a record of 21-11 including a 14-6 mark in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC).
The third game of the home stretch is Sunday, November 8, as K-State hosts UTRGV. The Wildcats lead the series, 5-0, including a 70-45 win on November 18, 2022, in Manhattan.
In the 2025-26 season, the Vaqueros set the school record for wins with a 21-14 overall record. UTRGV also set the school record for conference wins (16-6), road wins (11) and consecutive road wins (8). The Vaqueros reached the second round of the 2026 Postseason WNIT.
Kansas State will close its season-opening four-game home stand by hosting Montana on Tuesday, November 10, for the third annual Education Day game at 11 a.m. The Wildcats lead the series, 2-1, with the Grizzlies. Montana won the last meeting between the schools, 77-62, on December 2, 1989. This will be Montana's first visit to Manhattan since November 26, 1988.
Montana, among the top-30 in NCAA Division I women's basketball history for all-time wins with 1,040, tallied an overall record of 9-22 in 2025-26 including a 5-13 mark in the Big Sky Conference.
K-State will play its first game away from Bramlage on November 14, as the Wildcats face Minnesota in The Invitational at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Game times, broadcast information and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
Minnesota reached the 2026 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 and tallied a record of 24-9 including a 13-5 mark in Big Ten action.
The Wildcats lead the series with Minnesota, 11-6, with the last meeting between the schools coming on March, 23, 2004. This will be the third neutral site matchup in the series and first since Jan. 9, 1981.
In its history, K-State is 3-1 in games played in the state of South Dakota. The last visit to the state came on Dec. 11, 2021, as the Wildcats defeated South Dakota State, 79-73, in Brookings.
K-State returns to Bramlage Coliseum to host SMU on Tuesday, November 17. This will be the first meeting between the teams in Manhattan since December 29, 1990, and the fourth meeting overall, as the Wildcats lead the series, 2-1. K-State captured the meeting in 2025, as Gina Garcia made a buzzer-beating layup to send the Wildcats to a 46-44 win in Dallas.
The Mustangs finished the 2025-26 season with a 9-21 record, including a 2-16 mark in ACC action, in the first-year under head coach Adia Barnes.
K-State begins a three-game stretch away from Manhattan, as the Wildcats will face SEC foe, Missouri, in the 28.5 Hoops Women's Invitational at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City on November 22 at 6:30 p.m. Ticket information for the 28.5 Hoops Women's Invitational will be announced at a later date.

Following its trip to Kansas City, K-State heads to Fort Myers, Florida, to take part in the Elevance Health Women's Fort Myers Tip-Off. The games will be played at Suncoast Credit Union Arena on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College. The Wildcats will face NC State on Friday, November 27 at 6 p.m. (CT) and Villanova on Saturday, November 28, at 6 p.m. (CT). Both games will be available to watch on ION.
