A member of a basketball family, Susan Yow came to Kansas State after four years as the head coach at Drake. A Kodak All-American during her playing days at Elon College, Yow began her coaching career as an assistant at North Carolina State under her sister, Kay Yow. She then took over the helm at East Tennessee State in 1978, a post she held for eight years. While at K-State, Yow coached Kodak All-District selection Nadira Hazim.
