Kelsie Johnson is in her first season serving as K-State’s Director of On-Campus Recruiting in 2026.
Johnson came to Manhattan after working the 2025 season at Purdue as an Assistant Director of Football Recruiting Strategy. While in West Lafayette, Indiana, Johnson oversaw operations of various recruiting events such as gamedays, junior days, and both unofficial and official visits. She also handled travel logistics for both recruits and coaches, NCAA eligibility and weekly recruiting communication while working closely with creative, graphics, video and social teams to develop a consistent message and branding for recruiting.
Her time at Purdue came on the heels of working five seasons as a recruiting specialist while obtaining her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Oklahoma. She assisted in the Sooners signing three top-10 recruiting classes by playing a key role in operations and logistics of recruiting events in addition to overseeing recruiting student workers. She got her start in the field by working as a gameday recruiting assistant in 2019.
Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in African and African American studies from Oklahoma in 2023, while she added a master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletics in 2025.
