Manhattan, Kan. - The Kansas State women's track and field team was recently given All-Academic Honors for the indoor season by the United States Track Coaches Association, one of nine teams in the country to receive recognition.
Kansas State had a team cumulative grade-point average of 3.194. In addition to the team, Amanda Crouse, Amy Mortimer, Terresha DeRossett and Nicole Grose all received individual All-Academic accolades.
To receive the honor, the team must have a cumulative average of at least 3.1, while an individual must have a 3.25 grade-point average. The winners must have also participated in the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Crouse, Mortimer and Grose were all members of the Wildcats' third-place distance medley relay team. All received NCAA All-America honors. Mortimer is a six-time NCAA All-American in cross country and track and field, while Crouse is a two-time NCAA All-American for the distance medley relay. Crouse and Mortimer are also Verizon Academic All-America and All-District selections. DeRossett finished 14th in the high jump at the championships.
All four women were also named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team earlier this month.
Kansas State is currently at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore
