MANHATTAN, Kan. - Four Kansas State tennis players were named to the 2003 Tennis Academic All-Big 12 Teams as announced by the conference office Tuesday. Senior Petra Sedlmajerova, junior Paulina Castillejos and sophomores Maria Rosenberg and Andrea Cooper were named to the first team.
It is Sedlmajerova's third-straight first-team honor and Castillejos' first after earning second-team honors last year. Rosenberg and Cooper also make their first appearances in their first year eligible.
The Big 12 honored 63 student-athletes on the men's and women's teams, including seven with a 4.0 grade point average. The Wildcats were honored as first-selections with a grade point average of at least 3.2.
Kansas State returns to action this week when it plays Texas Tech in the first round of the Big 12 Tennis Tournament at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Mo. The Wildcats enter the tournament with a 12-6 overall and 7-4 league records.
