Six Wildcats Named Academic All-Big 12

Seniors Megan Farr, Jenny Jantsch and Leslie Townsend were joined by junior Kelsey Chipman, sophomore Lauren Mathewson and redshirt freshman Abby Fay on the first team.
Farr and Jantsch were among five players nominated with a perfect 4.0 GPA in the Big 12. This is Farr’s third first team Academic All-Big 12 award and Jantsch’s fourth. It is Townsend’s second first team selection and third overall for her academic work. Mathewson and Fay both receive first team honors in their first year to be eligible for the award while Chipman earns her second first team recognition.
Student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher either cumulative or in the previous two semesters and participate in 60 percent of her team’s scheduled contests. Freshman and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated in for a minimum of two years and meet all criteria except percent of participation also are eligible. First team selections must have a 3.20 GPA or higher.
