Sellers named Academic All-American

A native of Katy, Texas, Sellers becomes the seventh Wildcat track and field student-athlete to earn first team Academic All-America honors since 2000, including the first male. Overall, he is the 13th track and field athlete to earn Academic All-America accolades since 1986.
Sellers, who carries a 3.68 GPA in finance, earned his first Academic All-District honor on June 5 and twice has been named first team Academic All-Big 12.
The 2007 national champion, Sellers earned All-America honors in the high jump during both the indoor and outdoor seasons this past year. He was the runner-up at indoor nationals with a height of 7-04.50, while he finished fourth at the outdoor meet with a clearance of 7-02.50. A six-time All-American, Sellers has earned All-America accolades in the high jump at every indoor and outdoor championship of his career. He was named the Big 12 Men’s Indoor Performer of the Year in March after winning the Big 12 title with a school-record height of 7-06.00.
