Lehning Leads Cats Past Cyclones

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) - Shalee Lehning scored 18 of her 22 points in the second half and No. 17 Kansas State outlasted No. 20 Iowa State for a 59-52 victory on Saturday.
Marlies Gipson added 13 points for the Wildcats (15-1, 2-1 Big 12).
Kansas State opened the game with a 6-0 run, but the Cyclones came back to take a one-point lead midway through the first half. The Wildcats then went on a late run to take a 23-19 lead at the break.
Lehning caught fire early in the second half, reeling off 13 points in the first 5:52 to extend Kansas State's lead to 10. Iowa State narrowed the gap to four with 1:50 remaining, but a 3-pointer by Lehning sparked a 5-2 run that stifled the rally.
Kelsey Bolte led the Cyclones (13-4, 1-2) with 20 points and Alison Lacey added 13 points.
