K-State Duo to Compete at ITA Regional

The tandem of athletes headed to the ITA Central Regional are junior Antea Huljev and sophomore Nina Sertic. Both athletes will play in singles action and will compete in doubles play. Huljev and Sertic have been K-State's strongest doubles team this fall with a 7-3 record. Combined with its record from the 2009 spring season, Huljev and Sertic are 9-9 when teamed together in doubles action.
Huljev, a native of Velenje, Slovenia, leads the Wildcats in singles wins with a 5-5 record. In extended matches this fall, Huljev has tallied a 3-1 record and is 13-9 in three-set matches in her career.
Sertic has notched a 3-6 singles record this fall and is 11-18 in her brief career with the Wildcats.
Leading the six athlete delegation headed to the Kansas Invitational is senior Natasha Vieira. The product of Carabobo, Venezuela, is 3-5 this fall in singles action, including a 2-0 mark in three-set matches.
Following this weekend's action, Kansas State will begin to make preparations for the spring schedule. The Wildcats will open the spring slate on Jan. 31 with a pair of matches in Des Moines, Iowa, against Drake and Northern Iowa.
