
K-State Travels to Wake Forest Invite

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State women's tennis team will see its first full-squad action of the 2017-18 season this weekend at the Wake Forest Invite, which features 19 schools, at the Wake Forest Tennis Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina, starting Friday.
The Wildcats will play their singles matches in brackets of eight players and doubles matches in brackets of 16 doubles teams.
Following a singles co-championship at the Mizzou Invite, Anna Turco will participate in the A1 singles bracket against Winthrop's Alisa Solovyeva. Turco is 3-0 in singles play to begin her Wildcat career.
Joining Turco in the A1 singles bracket, Margot Decker will take on Virginia's Teodora Radosaviljevic. Decker finished 1-1 in singles at the ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, California, last weekend.
Rosanna Maffei will battle Erica Braschi of Elon in the A2 singles bracket. Maffei comes into the weekend competition 1-1 in her collegiate career.
Coming of a single co-championship at the Mizzou Invite with Turco, Ines Mesquita will compete against James Madison's Anna Makarova as the lone Wildcat in the B1 singles bracket. Mesquita carries a 3-0 record into this weekend, including being 14-10 in singles in her Wildcat career.
Carolina Costamagna and Maria Linares will represent K-State in the B2 singles bracket. Costamagna will faceoff with Virginia's Camille Favero. Costamagna finished her first play of her senior year, 2-1, improving to 40-42 in her singles career at K-State. Linares looks for her first victory of her collegiate career against Sasha Lee of Charlotte.
Meghan King will represent the Cats in G2 singles opposing Western Carolina's Alexa Webb. King is 1-2 in singles play this season.
Head coach Danielle Steinberg will present three new doubles tandems this weekend.
Decker and Costamagna will pair as a tandem this weekend for the first time as they take on Madison Silver and Daniela Dankanych of Marshall in the A doubles bracket.
Maffei and Turco will take on Wright State's Madison Riley and Jillian Milano in the B doubles bracket.
Mesquita and Linares will battle in the C doubles bracket with Gabriela Gonzalez and Sasha Lee of Charlotte.
