
Baseball’s Fall World Series to Begin Saturday

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State baseball will play its annual Fall World Series at Tointon Family Stadium beginning Saturday, November 4, 15th-year head coach Brad Hill announced.
The first of the three intrasquad scrimmages will begin at 2:15 p.m., at the home of the Wildcats. Game 2 is scheduled for Monday, November 6 at 2:30 p.m., with the final game to be played Tuesday, November 7 with first pitch at 4 p.m.
Fans will be able to attend the three-game series free of charge and get their first look at this season's team. The 2018 version is set to feature 19 returning letterwinners from last year's squad that went 29-26, including freshmen all-Americans Will Brennan and Cameron Thompson. K-State also retains seniors Kyle Barfield, Jake Biller, Hanz Harker, Justin Heskett, Trent McMaster and Hudson Treu.
The Cats also welcome 16 newcomers, including 12 incoming freshmen. In total, the K-State roster possesses six seniors, 10 juniors, nine sophomores and 14 freshmen (two redshirts).
The Wildcats officially begin their season on Friday, February 16 against South Alabama in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, at TicketReturn.com Field – home of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Chicago Cubs Class A affiliate). K-State will also square off with Indiana, Virginia Tech and 2016 national champion Coastal Carolina in the season's opening weekend.
K-State's home opener is set for Friday, March 2 at Tointon Family Stadium. The three-game set with La Salle to open its home campaign will kick off a stretch of 14 straight home games in the month of March for the Cats.
The Wildcats will play a total of 29 home games, including matchups with local rivals Nebraska, Creighton and Wichita State along with Big 12 foes Kansas, Oklahoma State and Texas.
2018 season tickets are slated to go on sale Monday, November 6 and are available through the K-State Ticket Office by calling 1.800.221.CATS (2287), visiting the ticket office inside Bramlage Coliseum or by going to k-statesports.com/tickets.
