
Decker Splits Results, Eliminated at ITA Championships

Cats travel to Wake Forest Invite Oct. 6-8
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - It took three sets for Washington's (ITA No. 84 ranked) Miki Kobayashi to defeat K-State women's tennis freshman Margot Decker, 3-6, 6-4, 2-6, in the first prequalifying round at the ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, California, at the Riviera Tennis Club.
Decker won the first match of her K-State career, advancing to the second round after defeating Wyoming's Magdalena Stencel, 6-4, 6-1 in the first prequalifying round as the lone representative for K-State.
The native of Blodelsheim, France, was one of 10 freshmen to participate in the ITA Championships, and moves to 1-1 this season.
The entire 2017 Wildcat squad will travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for the Wake Forest Invitational held at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex. The three-day event is set to begin Saturday, October 6.
