
Bachman, Wren Earn Google Cloud Academic All-District Honors

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Senior Jeff Bachman and junior Emma Wren of the Kansas State track and field and cross country teams were selected to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District First Teams, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Tuesday.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District men's and women's Track/Cross Country teams, as selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with Google Cloud Academic All-America teams announced in June.
Bachman, a senior from St. Joseph, Missouri, maintains a 3.98 GPA with as a marketing major, while Wren, of Portland, Oregon, maintains a 3.67 GPA while majoring in architectural engineering.
Bachman contributed to both the track and field and cross country teams this season, where he placed 10th in the men's 10,000 meters at the Big 12 Outdoor Championship earlier this month. He also ran a personal best time of 14:43.94 at the Kansas Relays in the 5,000 meters this season. In cross country, Bachman contributed in all six meets this season, including a 35th place finish at the Big 12 Championships where he ran a time of 24:55.1.
Wren also competed on the track and field and cross country teams, where she most recently finished 13th in the 5,000 meters at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships. In cross country, Wren was a solid contributor for the Wildcats, finishing 43rd at the Big 12 Championships in 2017, where she ran a personal best time of 21:38.4.
The two Wildcats selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-District first team are the most since 2009-10, when three Wildcats were selected. The honor comes after both Wren and Bachman earned Academic All-Big 12 honors earlier this month.
