Wildcats Travel to Tucson for 21st Annual MountainView Collegiate

Manhattan, Kan. – The Kansas State women's golf team will be back in action this Friday through Sunday at the MountainView Collegiate in Saddlebrook, Arizona. The Invitational will be played on at the par-72, 6,227-yard Preserve Golf Club.
The three-day tournament will consist of an 8 a.m. (MT) tee-off on Friday and Saturday, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start for Sunday's final round.
"I am glad we have a quick turnaround," head coach Kristi Knight said. "The course we played last week is good preparation for playing the Preserve this week."
K-State will be led into the event by sophomores Reid Isaac and Niamh McSherry, who will both look to build off of their top-20 finishes. Isaac currently holds a 75.48 stroke average, while McSherry has been playing her best golf as of late, placing second in K-State's scoring the past two events.
"We must embrace a poor shot when it happens, it is the nature of the game," Knight added. "All shots are not going to go exactly where we want them to. We hit a lot of good shots last week. Our bad shots turned out costly. The key is to stay calm and patient. Not get too emotional one way or another. We have to play with freedom and have commitment to every shot."
Kansas State sent the whole team to compete in the tournament, but the scoring lineup has yet to be determined at the time of this release.
Joining Kansas State, a co-host for the event, in the field will be tournament fellow co-host Missouri as well as Houston, Iowa State, North Texas, Oregon State, SMU, Southern Miss, Texas A&M, Texas State, UNLV, Washington and Wisconsin.
