Cats Stumble in Friday Doubleheader vs. Weber State, Dayton
Sep 13, 2019 | Volleyball
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – K-State concluded its third non-conference weekend at the MSU Fall Invitational Friday with a four-set defeat to Weber State (25-21, 26-28, 21-25, 20-25) before a five-game setback against Dayton (25-19, 16-25, 22-25, 25-21, 11-15) at Hammons Student Center.
"The Dayton match was by far the best we played all weekend," said head coach Suzie Fritz. "We connected things significantly better. Right now, I think that's the challenge for us: connect good touch to good touch and good play to good play. We did that the best all weekend against Dayton.
"I think we felt a pretty significant defense upgrade. I thought our liberos played pretty well and kept us in some long rallies. Holly Bonde coming in after being out a couple matches with an injury and really sparked us coming in in Game 3. That was a tremendous positive for us."
