K-State, No. 13 Kansas Split Dillons Sunflower Showdown

Nov 15, 2025 | Volleyball

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State got double-doubles from Aniya Clinton and Ava LeGrand Saturday afternoon, but No. 13 Kansas handed the Wildcats a straight-set loss to split the season's Dillons Sunflower Showdown at Morgan Family Arena, 25-22, 25-20, 26-24.

Senior setter Ava LeGrand dished out 34 assists and added  a match-high 12 digs for her team-leading 13th double-double of the season, while Aniya Clinton recorded her seventh double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs.

FROM THE CATS
JASON MANSFIELD, K-STATE HEAD COACH
Overall Statement…
"They're a really good team, especially defensively. They're big at the net, and they got some blocks early, and it kind of shook our confidence which is understandable, because we're hitting good shots and they're making us pay. It was tough to get going in the first set. I just didn't feel like we were ourselves pretty much the whole match. So, I don't know why, but I'm sure they're a big reason for it. The crowd was incredible though. I just think it's a missed opportunity"

On having four home games in a row…
"It was great to be at home. I think we grew a lot, hopefully with our confidence. We've beat some really good teams. This doesn't shake us too much, and we can regroup and understand that we're a really good team. We got beaten by a good team, but we just want them to play and make the plays they're capable of making. I think if we do that, we can compete against anyone. So, we need to figure out a way to do that a little bit better."
