MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State head volleyball coach Jason Mansfield announced the addition of Sydney Maue, a sophomore transfer from Arkansas, for the upcoming 2026 season.
In addition to four incoming freshmen, Maue joins transfers Fuka Sekita from UTEP and Camdyn Stucky from Tennessee for the 2026 campaign.
"We are thrilled to welcome Sydney to our K-State family," Mansfield said. "Sydney is an extremely competitive student-athlete with a strong academic background, exceptional athletic ability, and a genuine passion for learning and growth. The experience she gained competing in the SEC last season will be invaluable to our program. Beyond her talent, we felt Sydney was an outstanding fit for our culture and values, and we believe she will help move our program in a very positive direction."
A native of Walker, Iowa, Maue appeared in 15 matches during her freshman season at Arkansas as an opposite hitter, totaling 55 kills (1.41 per set). She registered a career-high 10 kills against Mississippi State on Nov. 7 and recorded at least five kills in four consecutive matches from Oct. 27 through Nov. 7. Maue also posted a career-best .385 hitting percentage (5-0-13) in the Razorbacks' season finale against Oklahoma at the SEC Tournament.
Defensively, Maue also collected a career-high six digs against Mississippi State on Nov. 7 and finished the season with 27 digs. She also recorded a career-best three blocks at Oklahoma on Oct. 29 and tallied at least one block in seven matches.
"I chose K-State volleyball because of the competitive culture and amazing atmosphere the program has built," Maue said. "I am so excited to grow and chase big goals with this team!"
A native of Iowa, Maue starred at Mount Vernon High School and Adrenaline Volleyball Academy. She helped lead Mount Vernon to the 2024 Iowa Class 3A state championship, with the Mustangs sweeping all of their matches at the state tournament. Maue earned State All-Tournament Team honors and was a unanimous First Team All-Conference selection after finishing second on the team with 559 kills while adding 56 blocks and 51 aces.
She was also a First Team All-Conference selection in 2023, helping Mount Vernon to a state runner-up finish. On the club circuit, Maue won the 2024 Girls Junior National Championship with Adrenaline Volleyball Academy and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Wildcats finished the 2025 season with an 18-10 overall record and a 10-8 mark in Big 12 play, earning the program's first at-large bid to the NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship since 2021. K-State advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after defeating San Diego in the opening round, securing the program's first postseason victory since 2016.
K-State officially begins the regular season August 28-30, hosting the annual K-State Invitational at Morgan Family Arena. The Cats' 26-match schedule features 11 opponents that qualified for last season's NCAA Tournament, including nine from the Big 12 Conference, which led the nation with 10 overall tournament qualifiers. Eight teams were slotted in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll, while K-State received votes.
