MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State women's tennis team looks to get back into the win column when the team arrives in Iowa City, Iowa this weekend for matchups against DePaul on Saturday and Iowa on Sunday.

"Looking forward to getting the team back out there this weekend," said Head Coach Jordan Smith. "We have two good matches lined up against DePaul and the University of Iowa. This is the first time we're playing DePaul since I've been here. They had a good win earlier in the year over Michigan State. We had a good match with Iowa last year and I believe this season will be the same."

Hosting both K-State and DePaul at the Hawkeye Tennis Complex, Iowa has recorded a 2-5 mark thus far in the 2020 spring season. DePaul travels from Chicago, Illinois holding a 4-4 record. The Blue Demons have lost four out of their last five matches since February 7.

The Wildcats engage with their second Big Ten opponent of the year as K-State arrives to Iowa City, Iowa with a 1-0 mark after defeating Penn State in the 2020 home opener on January 20 in convincing fashion, 5-0. Back on March 2, 2019, K-State handled the Hawkeyes at home, winning 4-1 behind three victories in the singles portion of the match from juniors Margot Decker, Maria Linares and Anna Turco.

K-State battled its second-nationally ranked opponent of the season against No. 23 Washington on February 14. Riding a four-match win streak, the Wildcats stumbled out of the gate and could not maintain their ground with the Huskies, as the team fell by a score of 4-1.

The lone point of the day came from Decker, who executed a three-set comeback in the third position of singles play to down the Huskies' Sedona Gallagher, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. The win in the No. 3 spot would be Decker's sixth-straight victory on the season, extending an already career-best mark.

At the top of the lineup for the Wildcats, the junior trio of Linares, Turco and Decker all have posted winning marks in the No. 1-3 positions during the 2020 season. Singles play as been a key ingredient for the team's recent success in dual match competition as the Wildcats increased their win total to 25 in matchups during the spring season.

Live stats will be made available for fans and spectators during Sunday's match with the Hawkeyes, which can be found here.

Closing out the road stint on Sunday, the Wildcats will next host the first of six-straight home matches on Friday, February 28 as SMU comes to Manhattan, Kansas for an 11 a.m., CT showdown.
