K-State Falls in Overtime at Texas Tech

MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State led by 12 points in the fourth quarter, but a 19-0 run by Texas Tech in the fourth quarter and overtime sends the Wildcats to an 83-75 loss on Wednesday at United Supermarkets Arena.
K-State (5-10, 0-8 Big 12) would win the third quarter, 24-16, and build a 58-47 lead entering the fourth. Rachel Ranke scored five of K-State's eight points in the final two-and a half minutes to construct the advantage. K-State shot 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from the field in the third quarter.
Texas Tech (9-9, 4-8) closed to within seven, 61-54, with a 7-1 run. K-State stopped the rally, as Christianna Carr buried a 3-pointer and Sydney Goodson finished a tear-drop layup with 5:43 to play and give the Wildcats a 66-54 lead. In her first game since departing Texas Tech, Goodson carded 13 points and five rebounds.
Texas Tech ended the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run to tie the game at 71. Vivian Gray led the comeback with six of the 10 points.
The Lady Raiders opened overtime with a 9-0 run to build an 80-71 lead with 2:17 remaining in the extra session. Gray ended the night with 28 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field and 11-of-17 from the foul line.
K-State was led by Ayoka Lee with 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe, however she fouled out midway through the fourth quarter aiding the Lady Raider comeback.
Carr notched 18 points on 8-of-20 shooting, while pulling in five rebounds.
K-State shot 45.2 percent (28-of-62) from the field, including a 9-of-24 performance from 3-point range and were 10-of-12 from the foul line. Texas Tech tallied a 46.0 percent (29-of-63) effort from the field and 19-of-28 effort from the charity stripe.
