Cats Kick Off Homestand Against Shockers Tuesday

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State begins a season-long seven-game homestand Tuesday night against Wichita State, as the in-state rivals complete a home-and-home midweek series at 6 p.m. at Tointon Family Stadium.

The Wildcats seek their first season series sweep of the Shockers since 2016 after a 12-1 win on April 18 at Eck Stadium. Tuesday's tilt will mark the 100th all-time meeting between the sides and will also begin a string of four consecutive games played against teams from the Sunflower State. Kansas visits Tointon Family Stadium for a three-game series starting Friday.

German Fajardo will take the hill for K-State on Tuesday. Fajardo started and earned the victory in the season's first matchup, throwing five scoreless innings of two-hit ball with four strikeouts.

The Shockers will counter with lefty Jace Miner, who is 0-2 with an 8.85 ERA. WSU snapped a season-long 11-game losing streak over the weekend, as it took two of three games at Memphis.

Fans are advised to park in the west parking lot of Bill Snyder Stadium with ongoing construction on the new Morgan Family Arena. Please enter through Gate 3 via College Avenue across from Ascension Via Christi Hospital. Gate 1 and Gate 2 will be closed for the duration of the 2022 baseball season.
 
When proceeding to the stadium on foot, fans are advised to exit the west parking lot along the pedestrian path between Gate 1 and Gate 2 and then proceed to the stadium via the sidewalk along College Avenue.

A LOOK AT K-STATE
K-State begins a seven-game homestand Tuesday against in-state rival Wichita State at Tointon Family Stadium ... Dominic Johnson hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the eighth inning, capping a stretch of six unanswered runs in the comeback victory over the Sooners ...
