
K-State Compete in Doubles Matches to Start TCU Invite

The Wildcats will continue to compete tomorrow starting at 5 p.m.
FORT WORTH, Texas.- The K-State women's tennis team competed in three doubles matches on the first day of the TCU Invitational on Thursday (Oct. 26) at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Three duos competed against host TCU and two Notre Dame teams, matches being played to an eight game pro set.
Freshman Tereza Polakova and junior Veronika Kulhava claimed one victory for K-State, defeating Rylie Hanford and Nibi Ghosh from Notre Dame, 8-6. The duo is now 1-1 against their competition, first playing together during the ITA Central Regional on Oct. 13, where they dropped the set 8-2.
Freshman pair Jillian Harkin and Charlotte Keitel battled against the Fighting Irish' Yashna Yellayi and Maria Castedo, but could not hang on being defeated 8-6.
Senior Aleen Quamar and sophomore Maria Santos came up short against the Horned Frog's Isabel Pascual and Helena Narmont, 8-2.
Day two of the tournament will begin at 5 p.m., CT for the Wildcats, competing in more doubles action with singles matches following.
