FORT WORTH, Texas- The K-State women's tennis team crowned three champions on Sunday (Oct. 29) in the TCU Invitational at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Freshmen Charlotte Keitel and Tereza Polakova were named singles co-champions, after both going undefeated, 3-0, during the invitational. Polakova and junior Veronika Kulhava were also named out-right champions in doubles competition, going undefeated through four matches.

Freshman Jillian Harkin also encountered a tiebreaker decision, but was defeated by Baylor's Lauren Littell, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).
Sophomore Maria Santos had to retire her match due to injury, 4-1, against the Fighting Irish' Nibi Ghosh.
Harkin and Keitel claimed a second Wildcats doubles victory, defeating Baylor's Littell and Zuzanna Frankowska, 6-1.
Quamar and Santos fought in their doubles matchup against Notre Dame's Kate Bellia and Yashna Yellayi but came up short, 7-6 (7-2).

FROM THE COURT
Head Coach Jordan Smith
On the team's progress during the invitational…
"Really proud of our group this weekend. The message I had for the team on Thursday night was to be okay failing doing the right things because that's the only way you'll be able to succeed later. Obviously, I thought it would take time for them to embrace this. Therefore, it's been amazing to see their progress and success over the weekend.
On the successes the women accomplished…
"Even better that we're coming home with a pair of co-champions in singles and outright doubles champions! Overall it's been fun watching this young group event after event. Have to recover before we get back on the courts in two weeks down at Baylor."
