Wildcats Return to Arizona for MountainView Collegiate

MANHATTAN, KAN. - The Kansas State women's golf team returns to Arizona for a second-straight tournament to compete in the MountainView Collegiate - an event the Wildcats co-host with Missouri - at the par-72, 6,352-yard MountainView Golf Club, Friday through Sunday in Tucson, Arizona.
"MountainView is a great event and is a wonderful opportunity for us," said head coach Kristi Knight. "We have seen some low individual scores this spring, but it's time for low team scores."
It is a familiar setting for Knight and the Wildcats as they have participated in every installment of the event's 24-year history. K-State last won a team title there in 2002, while Wildcat legend Christine Boucher was the last to win an individual title in 2003.
This year the Cats will be represented by Haley Vargas, Manon Donche-Gay, Noa Van Beek, Napua Glossner, and Remington Isaac as the five in the scoring lineup, with Gabriela McNelly competing as an individual.
This K-State squad has been much improved through the spring season as the Cats recorded back-to-back 9-over par 873 scores at the FAU Paradise Invitational and the Westbrook Invitational, which were their lowest 54-hole totals since September 2021.
Both Donche-Gay and Noa Van Beek have flashed with impressive showings, each coming up with career performances.
At the FAU Paradise Invitational, Donche-Gay tied for eighth place after firing a 4-under par 212, her all-time lowest score and the lowest by a Wildcat since Reid Isaac in 2020.
Van Beek, a freshman, captured her first top-20 finish at the Westbrook Invitational with a 3-under par 213, also a career-low score.
In the two spring events, the team has combined for 12 even or under-par rounds, three times more than their total during the fall slate.
The Wildcats will hope to take that momentum into perhaps the most challenging field they've faced all season, with a staggering 12 of the 17 participating teams in the Golfstat Top 50, including No. 34 Arkansas, No. 36 Houston, No. 26 Iowa State, No. 49 Nebraska, No. 41 New Mexico, No. 50 North Carolina, No. 44 North Texas, No. 23 Ohio State, No. 6 San Jose State, No. 37 TCU, and No. 42 Tulsa. The field also includes Wisconsin, UNLV, New Mexico State, and Southern Miss.
The 54-hole tournament will see an 18-hole round completed each day, with tee times for the first two rounds and a shotgun start for Sunday's final round. Play will begin all three days at 8:45 a.m. (CT).
