Three Wildcats Compete on Third Day of West Preliminary

The fourth and final day of competition starts tomorrow at 3 p.m. CT
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Three men from the K-State track and field teams competed on the third day of the NCAA West Preliminary on Friday (May 26) at Hornet Stadium.
Freshman Aaron Antoine and sophomore Marcus Gelpi both competed in the high jump, clearing a height of 2.09m/6-10.25. Antoine cleared it on his first attempt to tie for 16th place, while Gelpi cleared it on his second attempt in a tie for 23rd place.
Junior Hadley Splechter competed in the 1,500 meters quarterfinals, finishing with a time of 3:51.98.
On the fourth and final day of competition on Saturday (May 27), freshman Tamaiah Koonce will start off the day in the women's discus throw at 3 p.m., CT.
The Wildcats will compete in three other events during the day, as junior Hannah Stewart will run in the 3,000 meter steeplechase quarterfinals at 7:40 p.m., CT followed by junior Shalom Olotu in the triple jump at 8 p.m., CT before the women's 4x400 relay team concludes the day at 10:45 p.m. CT.
