K-State Wraps Up Competition at NCAA West Preliminary

The NCAA Championships begin on June 7 in Austin, Texas
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The K-State track and field teams finished competition on the fourth day of the NCAA West Preliminary on Saturday (May 27) at Hornet Stadium.
Freshman Tamaiah Koonce started the day competing in her first NCAA meet in the discus throw with a 24th place finish of 51.26m/168-2.
Junior Hannah Stewart ran in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:36.71 to place 41st.
Junior Shalom Olotu competed in her second event of the week, the triple jump, with a distance of 12.59m/41-3.75, finishing 29th.
The women's 4x400 relay team, consisting of senior Shalysa Wray, junior O'Shalia Johnson, freshmen Twaneise Johnson and Ludivine Aubert, finished with a time of 3:36.70, to finish 21st.
K-State concluded the NCAA West Preliminary with three Wildcats – juniors Urte Bacianskaite, Kade McCall and Emma Robbins – advancing to the NCAA Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas on June 7-10. Bacianskaite will compete in the heptathlon, while McCall and Robbins will take part in the men's and women's hammer throws.
