MANHATTAN, Kan. – Senior Jadyn Greisen was named to the Academic All-America Women's At-Large Second Team by the College Sports Communicators on Thursday (June 22).
"It has been great to have (Jadyn) Greisen as part of our program. She is an example of someone who has put in the work to excel both as student and as an athlete," head coach Patrick Sweeney said. "Coming in as an engineer, she chose a difficult major and she has continued to maintain a high standard for her academic performance. She has been successful all around, serving as a captain of our team and continuing to push our program forward. We're proud of everything she has accomplished throughout her collegiate career."
Greisen, a senior from Lincoln, Neb., majoring in Mechanical Engineering has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.99. A three-time letter winner, she raced in the 1v4+ this past season. Highlights for the boat included winning silver at the SIRA Championship and the Wildcats completing a clean sweep with victories in five races at the Creighton Duel. The team also won the Sunflower Showdown against in-state rival Kansas for the first time since 2019.
Out of 49 Division I student-athletes named, she is one of six from the Big 12 Conference to receive the honor, including two athletes from Texas Rowing, two athletes from Oklahoma Gymnastics and one athlete from West Virginia Rifle.
This most recent award follows Greisen being named to the Academic All-District VII team last month. Teammates that were also honored with this distinction include graduate students Kaitlyn Henke, Madison Jensen, and senior Lauren Plum.
Previously, Greisen was named the 2022 Big 12 Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year. She was also a recipient of the Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, the Big 12's highest academic honor. She has been recognized twice as First Team Academic All-Big 12 and was a member of the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie team her first year of racing.
Requirements for nomination for CSC Academic All-America honors included one year of previous competition, a 3.5 GPA or higher and 50 percent participation in races during the season.
