She earns First Team All-American honors, her first time collegiately

AUSTIN, Texas – Junior Emma Robbins broke the K-State women's hammer throw school record in her fourth place finish, earning First Team All-American distinction, at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas at the Mike A. Myers Stadium.
 
During her first throw she threw a new personal best at 69.89m/229-3, almost six feet further than her previous, breaking Janee' Kassanavoid's record of 68.21m/223-9 from 2021.
 
"Emma had an absolutely phenomenal meet today!" assistant coach Greg Watson said. "She has worked extremely hard all year on improving everything she can to raise the bar for herself! It was great to see all of that come together today!"
 
Robbins earned First Team All-American for the first time in her collegiate career, last earning Second Team honors in 2021 at the outdoor National Championships when she finished 14th for LSU.
 
Robbins had a successful outdoor season, breaking her previous personal best from LSU at the NCAA West Preliminary on May 25 with 68.18m/223-8 where she finished runner-up. She was also runner-up in the Big 12 Championships on May 13, and won the Rock Chalk Classic on April 29. During the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational weekend from March 29-April 1 she finished third and second, respectively.
 
Sophomore Stephanie Ratcliffe of Harvard won the women's hammer throw with a distance of 73.63m/241-7.
 
Friday (June 9) junior Urte Bacianskaite will start competition in the women's heptathlon starting with the 100 meter hurdles at 2:45 p.m., CT. Also competing in the high jump, shot put and 200 meter dash.
