
Track and Field Host Last Indoor Regular Season Meet

The day will start at 2 p.m. with the men's high jump and pole vault
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State track and field teams will finish the indoor regular season on Friday (Feb. 16) with the Steve Miller Invitational at the K-State Indoor Track & Field Complex.
The men's high jump and pole vault will start the afternoon at 2 p.m. CT, the track events beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the women's mile.
Admission is free to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Other participating teams include Fort Hays State, Kansas, Kansas City, Missouri Southern State, Oklahoma Baptist, Southern Nazarene and West Texas A&M.
In the USTFCCCA #EventSquad rankings released on Monday (Feb. 12) the men's team is featured at no. 2 in the high jump and no. 10 in the 400 meter dash. The women's team is also ranked top-10 in the weight throw (no. 4), high jump (no. 6) and shot put (no. 7).
Rankings are determined by a team's top four performers cumulative season-best marks in a particular event.
Last weekend at the Tyson Invitational, many Wildcats' performances landed them in the K-State indoor all-time top-10. In the 400 meters, freshman Nen Matlock and senior Jaimie Omalla tied for no. 6 at 47.18 seconds, freshman Tavon Underwood at no. 8 in 47.40 seconds.
With three 3,000 meters personal bests, junior Tommy Hazen landed at no. 8 in the men's rankings with a time of 8:13.31, senior Hannah Stewart at no. 6 in 9:28.66 and freshman Josphine Wanjiku with a time of 9:29.53 at no. 8 in the women's rankings.
In the field events, junior Daisy Monie, with her shot put personal best of 15.84m, landed her at no. 8, senior Shalom Olotu in the women's long jump no. 9 with a distance of 6.20m.
