MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State heads into another challenging weekend, as the Wildcats take on the Texas Longhorns at Tointon Family Stadium in a three-game Big 12 Conference series, starting Thursday at 6 p.m.

The No. 23 Wildcats (17-6, 5-1 Big 12) are bringing a nine-game win streak into the week, after sweeping past Houston to take the lead in the Big 12 standings. Head coach Pete Hughes collected his 800th career win and 150th at K-State in the series.

Texas (15-10, 4-2 Big 12) holds a 63-24-1 advantage over K-State in the all-time series and leads 53-23-1 in Big 12 contests.

K-State will send right-hander Josh Wintroub (1-1) to the mound in the series opener against Big 12 Preseason Pitcher of the Year Lebarron Johnson Jr. (1-1).  Jacob Frost (2-0) will get the start Friday, while Owen Boerema (2-1) will start in the finale.
