
Kulhava, Santos Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

This is the second CSC Academic honor for Kulhava, first for Santos
MANHATTAN, Kan.- Junior Veronika Kulhava and sophomore Maria Santos were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday (May 14).
Kulhava, a native of Letohrad, Czech Republic, earned a 4.00 GPA in Psychology for the 2023-24 academic year. Kulhava joined the Wildcats ahead of the season, transferring from Temple University where she spent two previous years and earned CSC Academic All-Region honors in 2023.
During fall tournaments, Kulhava went 8-3 in singles matches and was named Doubles Champion with partner Tereza Polakova during the TCU Invitational. In the spring she competed in 22 of the 24 dual matches, going 6-10 in singles play.
A native of Cortegaça, Portugal, Santos earned a 4.00 GPA in Business. As a freshman, she was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete and to the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team.
In the fall, Santos was named the Individual Singles Champion in the yellow draw at the TCU Invitational after winning four straight matches. In the spring she accumulated a 9-4 singles record during 13 dual matches.
The Big 12 Conference featured 26 more All-District honors from 11 schools, BYU leading teams with the most women nominated at four.
Requirements for nomination for CSC Academic All-District honors included one year of previous competition and a 3.5 GPA or higher.
