Jan 31, 2025 | Volleyball
MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State volleyball earned six selections to the 2024 Academic All-Big 12 Team, including 4.0 grade-point averages from Molly Ramsey and Symone Sims.
K-State was one of three programs with two student-athletes boasting a 4.0 grade-point average, as Ramsey and Sims accounted for two of the nine perfect GPAs in the conference. The honor marked the fourth Academic All-Big 12 selection for Ramsey and first for Sims.
Joining Ramsey and Sims were graduate Liz Gregorski, senior Izzi Szulczewski, and juniors Ava LeGrand and Brenna Schmidt.
LeGrand and Schmidt each earned their second-career academic nod, while Gregorski and Szulczewski each made their way onto the Academic All-Big 12 Team for the first time.
K-State has had at least six academic honorees in 12 of the last 13 seasons, totaling 79 Academic All-Big 12 accolades since 2015.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher either cumulative or over the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20% of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
The Wildcats ended the 2024 season with an overall record of 10-17, including an 8-10 finish in Big 12 play under second-year head coach Jason Mansfield.
