K-State Volleyball Signs Four in Fall Signing Period

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Third-year head coach Jason Mansfield announced the additions of Skylar Brady, Ellah Derrer, Addison Massey, and Reese Resmer for the 2026 season during the fall signing period on Wednesday.
"I am so excited to welcome this 2026 class to K-State," Mansfield said on his third recruiting class. "I truly believe this is a top-10 class with four exceptional volleyball players who care about the right things, have tremendous character, and a genuine passion to compete."
"Each of them is a proven winner, having earned medals at the club level and state championships in high school. This group will help continue to push our program forward in the Big 12 and on the national stage."
K-State (14-7, 7-6 Big 12), which is now receiving votes in the latest AVCA Coaches Top 25 Poll, returns to Morgan Family Arena to host a pair of Top 25 opponents, starting tonight when Wildcats face No. 21 Baylor (14-8, 9-5 Big 12) at 6:30 p.m.
The Cats will wrap their four-match homestand Saturday at 1 p.m. with the second edition of the 2025 Dillons Sunflower Showdown against No. 13 Kansas (19-8, 10-3 Big 12). Both matches will broadcast on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
Skylar Brady // Outside Hitter // Bethany, Oklahoma
Brady, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, is a two-time First Team All-Conference selection at Bethany High School. She was named to the 4A State All-Tournament team three times, helping the Bronchos to a championship title in 2024, along with a runner-up finish in 2023 and semifinal appearance in 2025.
Brady recorded over 2,600 attacks in her career at Bethany High School and compiled over 1,500 kills, 160 aces, 590 digs, 100 solo blocks and 40 block assists. Brady finished her career as Bethany's all-time kills leader with 1,525.
She is the daughter of Rickey and Stephanie Brady and has four siblings: Meg, Ethan, Breck and Rocky. Her dad played football at Oklahoma and was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1994. He went on to have training camp stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Her major is undecided at the time of the release.
Mansfield on Brady: "Skylar was our final commit in this class – and in my opinion, an absolute steal. She's made a seamless transition from middle blocker to outside hitter, quickly developing into an elite all-around player. Skylar has a quick arm, great elevation, and can attack effectively from both pins. What impressed me most, though, is how natural she is in serve receive – she's a confident, consistent passer with the potential to be elite in that skill."
Brady on her signing: "I chose K-State because it felt the most like home, everyone was so welcoming and supportive, I am super excited for the opportunity to play high level volleyball and build relationships with my teammates and coaches."
Ellah Derrer // Middle Blocker // Davenport, Iowa
A native of Davenport, Iowa, Ellah Derrer had a standout career at Assumption High School where she was named the MAC Player of the Year and Iowa 3A State Player of the Year. Derrer led Assumption to the 2025 3A State Championship title, earning MVP recognition.
A three-time First Team All-State and First Team All-Conference selection, Derrer capped her career at Assumption as the school record holder in career blocks (369), hitting percentage, and blocks in a single season. She also finished third all-time in total kills (1,083) and tallied 172 digs with 113 service aces in her career.
The 6-foot-3 middle blocker is the daughter of Ryan and Callista Derrer, and has two siblings, Landen and Mylanah. Derrer plans to major in education while attending K-State.
Mansfield on Derrer: "We identified Ellah early in her high school career, and her growth each year has been remarkable. Her combination of height, length, athleticism, and skill makes her one of the top middle blockers in the class. She's dominant offensively, at the net, and behind the service line – a rare blend of talent. This past year, she's shown incredible growth in how she competes and brings passion to every point. If she continues to build confidence, the sky's the limit for her."
Derrer on her signing: "I chose K-State not only because I fell in love with the campus and school, but I also fell in love with the coaches and what they stand for. I loved meeting each and every one of them, and the more I met and got to know them, the more obvious my choice was going to be. I also always wanted to compete on a strong and competitive team, and I have confidence Jason, and the whole coaching staff will keep this team competitive!"
Addison Massey //Outside Hitter // Las Cruces, New Mexico
Addison Massey, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, was a three-time letterwinner at Las Cruces High School, while she was home-schooled. Massey was named the Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year twice, earning the national award for both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years, after leading the Bulldawgs to back-to-back Class 5A State Championship titles.
A three-time All-State selection and two-time 6A District 3 Player of the Year, Massey amassed over 1,400 kills, 650 digs, and 150 service aces with 58 blocks during her career at Las Cruces. She played club for Texas Performance and was named to the Girls Junior National Championship (GJNC) National All-Tournament team twice.
She is the daughter of Kris and Tamie Massey, and has three siblings, Jocelyn, Bailey, and Alexis. Her mom played tennis at New Mexico State, while Jocelyn played tennis at KU (2023-24) and Bailey did rodeo at NMSU. Her sister Alexis played beach volleyball at UTEP (2024) and was a setter at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (2023). She plans to major in accounting during her time at K-State.
Mansfield on Massey: "Addison is one of the premiere outside hitters in the 2026 class. Her arm and range are elite, and she's worked incredibly hard to become a complete, all-around player over the past few years. What truly sets her apart is her competitive spirit and passion for the game. She plays with energy, supports her teammates, and is always looking to improve. Addison is a perfect fit for the culture we're continuing to build here at K-State."
Massey on her signing: "I chose K-State because of the community, the program, and the coaching staff. The coaches prioritize us players as people before tools, which speaks loudly about their character and culture. I am most excited to compete with great, hard-working girls. Also, the opportunity to play against other high-level athletes also really excites me. It is a new journey, and I am ready to start alongside my fellow Cats."
Reese Resmer // Middle Blocker // Noblesville, Indiana
Reese Resmer established herself as one of the top volleyball prospects for Noblesville High School. She earned a spot on the 2025 IndyStar Girls Volleyball Preseason Super Team and was ranked No. 72 on the 2026 PrepVolleyball National Top 150 list. Resmer received First Team All-Hoosier Crossroads Conference honors in 2025 after earning second team recognition as a junior, while also being named to the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association (IHSVCA) 4A All-District Team.
A 6-foot middle blocker, Resmer totaled 411 kills her senior year with 104 blocks and hit at a .446 clip. She ended her high school career with 861 kills and 243 blocks with a .395 hitting percentage. On the club circuit, she helped lead The Academy Boiler Junior Volleyball Club to three AAU National Championships (2019 – 11U, 2021 – 13U, and 2022 – 14U) and was honored as an AAU 14U All-American in 2022.
A native of Noblesville, Indiana, Resmer is the daughter of Devyn and Lindsay Resmer and has an older sister, Riley. Both parents competed collegiately at Southern Illinois – her father in track and field (javelin) and her mother in volleyball (1995-98) – while Riley plays volleyball at Harvard. Her father captured the 1998 Missouri Valley Conference javelin title. Resmer's aunt, Ashley Flannery, played volleyball at Wake Forest (2000-03), and her uncle, Brad Brown, spent seven seasons in the NHL. Resmer plans to major in business administration at K-State.
Mansfield on Resmer: "Reese immediately stood out in the recruiting process with her explosive athleticism. She's lightning-quick off the ground with a fast arm, and her relentless work ethic really impressed me. She's constantly working to close blocks and transition efficiently – two challenging skills to master.
